My passion for medicine began during my upbringing in New York, where I was fortunate to grow up in a family of physicians (my father and grandfather). From a young age, I was fascinated by the way medicine could help people, and I absorbed a deep respect for science, careful observation, and compassionate care. At the same time, I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember, from family pets to wildlife I encountered growing up. Becoming a veterinarian felt like the perfect way to combine these lifelong interests. What excites me most about veterinary medicine today is the opportunity to continually learn new techniques and treatments, to solve challenging cases, and to help pets live longer, healthier, and happier lives.
I believe strongly in the Golden Rule - Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” - and it guides how I care for every pet and family that comes through our doors. When a pet first arrives, I like to greet them gently and give them space to approach at their own pace. A little treat bribery usually helps build trust quickly! Every visit with a pet and their owner is an opportunity to make them feel comfortable and heard, and I strive to create a caring partnership that helps pets live happy, healthy lives. I also enjoy teaching owners about the various treatment options so they can make informed decisions for their pets’ care.
Pets have always been cherished members of my family. I’ve been guilty of spoiling my pets a little…and they provide so much love, laughter, and fulfillment in return! My own cat Archie, along with my husband and adult son, bring joy and companionship to my life. Outside of work, I ’m a bit of a homebody - I love spending time with family, cooking and baking, tending my garden, curling up with a good book, and even talking to my houseplants.
Pet owners continue to return to Hopmeadow because they see the genuine care and dedication everyone on our team has for both pets and their families. I feel fortunate to do work I love every day, and to help pets and their people feel supported, understood, and well cared for.
